What we do.
The Systems Biology Laboratory at the University of Arizona’s Asthma & Airway Disease Research Center combines expert domain knowledge in immunobiology with the powerful tools of systems biology to obtain mechanistic insight into the role of the immune system in the pathogenesis of asthma.
The long-term goal of this work is to unlock the molecular secrets that govern the early origins of asthma and develop new approaches to predict disease development and avoid disease transition.

Basic Discovery
Understanding the early life origins of asthma is crucial to the advancement of asthma research and technology. Conducting cohort studies and researching clinical models is our main emphasis in the Basic Discovery phase.
Translational Science
Venture Development
Using our findings from our Basic Discovery Phase, we identified that very early identification & intervention of high-risk infants is fundamental to the management of chronic diseases. In this area we focus on clinical trials, biomarkers, and therapeutics.
